January is upon and a new year is here, and so are great new programs at Moon Library! Come in from the cold and warm up with a great book or start 2013 right by trying out something new.  Take a look below to find out what we have happening that might be of interest to you:

Author  Meet and Greet: Larry Inkovich & The  Sixth Precept

Wednesday, January 9th @ 6:30 PM

Local author Larry Inkovich will be making his first appearance at Moon Township Public Library to discuss his new book The Sixth Precept.  This sci-fi tale travels between ancient China and modern day Pittsburgh and is filled with nonstop suspense and action.  Don’t miss this chance to learn more about an exciting new author, a great new read, and Larry’s advice on getting published and getting noticed.  Registration is required.

Get Graphic with Howard Shapiro and The Stereotypical Freaks

Wednesday, January 16th @ 6:30 PM

Local graphic novelist and juvenile/young adult fiction author Larry Shapiro will be stopping by the library to discuss his new graphic novel, The Stereotypical Freaks.  This graphic novel aimed at young adults is the fun story of four teenagers who come together over a shared love of rock and roll and their statuses as school outcasts.  The group decides to compete in Battle of the Bands and chaos ensues.  Adults and teens in grades 6-12 are welcome to attend.  Howard will discuss his graphic novel as well as how to get published and/or break into the world of graphic novels.

Crafting Community

Tuesday, January 22nd @ 6:30 PM

Are you an avid crafter?  Do you enjoy talking with and spending time with other crafters?  If you answered yes to both questions, then grab whatever project you’re working on at home and come spend an hour with us at Crafting Community at Moon Library.  Whether it’s needlepoint, scrapbooking, knitting, or painting, we have a place for you.  Bring your supplies and we’ll provide the company and the coffee.  Please register for a spot.
